The art of dancing is flourishing and is getting more and more popular in Armenia.
Armenian art of dancing may be proud of success of “KOVKAS” (arm. Caucasus) dance group. It was founded in 1977 in Yerevan City Center of Youth Creative Art (Pioneer palace) headed by Ashot Hakobyan. Since that period of time the dance group had passed productive creative way, had lot of success.
The love to dance had passed from the father to sons. Today the head of “KOVKAS” dance group is the eldest son – Armen Hakobyan. He continues father’s work with the same fervor and boundless devotion.
During the years the group performed in many countries: France, Spain, Italy, USA, Germany, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, North Korea, CIS countries and won prizes, grand prix.
Alumni of the group professionally dance Armenian, Russian, Georgian and other countries’ folk dances.
